- How to Set Up a Custom Domain Name
How to Set Up a Custom Domain Name
Set up custom domain to point the default domain for your Flowlu account (example.flowlu.com) to a custom domain. Only account administrators can configure the custom domain.
For example, if your company website is available at company.com, you can connect a subdomain such as subdomain.company.com. Or you can set up a separate personal domain for your portal, such as mycompany.com.
Custom domain functionality requires you have an Enterprise subscription plan. It's not available if you are using a trial version of Flowlu.
Step #1. Create a CNAME record
A CNAME record (Canonical Name record) is a type of resource record in the Domain Name System (DNS) that maps one domain name (an alias) to another (the canonical name).
Go to you DNS provider.
Create a CNAME record that directs your domain to the default domain for your Flowlu account.
For instance, if you want to use the domain like example.example.com (third-level or a subdomain) for your Flowlu account, create a CNAME record that points example.example.com to company.flowlu.com or an A record that points it to IP address (you can find IP in the System Settings of your account).
Generally, when adding a CNAME record you need to enter your custom domain to the Host field and your current Flowlu domain should be entered to the Value/Target.
If you wish to use the domain like example.com (second-level), you need to create an A record that points example.com to IP address (you can find it the System Settings of your account).
You can learn more about how to create the CNAME or A record by exploring your DNS provider's documentation.
Once you create a CNAME record, open whatsmydns.net/#CNAME and enter your custom domain into the field. Press Search. This will help you to ensure that you've created a CNAME record correctly. For the A record, use this link whatsmydns.net/#A/ to check if your custom domain is up and running.
Step #2. Connect the custom domain to your Flowlu account
Go to your Flowlu account. Navigate to Portal Settings → Main Settings → Branding.
Type your custom domain name.
Scroll down a page and press Save.
Well done! Your custom domain for Flowlu account is now live.
Please note that when you try to open the page by custom domain for the first time, the page load time may be up to one minute due to SSL certificate creation.
